About McKellar Racing

Our farm is located at Catani, near Pakenham in south-east Victoria. 

McKellar Racing has a young female trainer, Tara Cochrane, whose background is in equestrian and eventing.  She is focused on educating the horses from a young age on how to run and the biomechanics and technique of racing.  We do not to push the horses from a young age and will only race the horses when they tell us they are ready.  Tara aims to produce sound and durable horses that can race consistently over a long career.

Services

We are committed to our owners and to make their experience of racing as enjoyable and educational as possible.  We realise that owning and racing horses can be a very expensive exercise so we do our best to keep costs low and also try to get the best financial results for our owners.  We understand that the success of our business is determined by the loyalty of our owners.  We like to retain a significant share in the majority of racehorses that we syndicate which demonstrates our commitment to our product.
